In 2005 we formed a brand new funding and grant organization called the Illinois Blues Coalition which is a not-for-profit organization"

This organization does not compete with Blues Societies. What it does is provide grant money to Blues Societies and others who may request funding.

The Illinois Blues Coalition, Inc. is an Illinois Not For Profit Corporation established under section 501 (c) (3) of the U.S. Tax Code.  We are also known as the International Blues Coalition and the Illinois Blues Coalition.

The objective of the Coalition is to promote the art form of blues-related music by performance, by interpretation, by preservation and by enhancement of appreciation through knowledge and education.

The Illinois Blues Coalition and The International Blues Coalition will support Blues Societies, Blues Music Promoters, Blues Music Entertainers and Blues Music Education by offering grants and scholarships to help fund projects which preserve and promote the history and future of blues music.For more information on how the Illinois Blues Coalition and/or the International Blues Coalition can help your organization, send an e-mail to: illinois_blues_coalition@jaytv.com.Program Focus & Funding Objectives.

The Illinois Blues Coalition and the International Blues Coalition support initiatives that align with one or more of the following objectives:
  1.  Preservation of blues music history and cultural heritage
  2.  Educational programs focused on blues music and its influence 3.  Support for Blues Societies and other organizations dedicated to blues music
  4,  Assistance to blues music entertainers and educators through project-based funding and scholarships
  5.  Community-based projects that promote awareness and appreciation of blues music

All funding decisions are made in support of the Coalition’s mission and are intended to strengthen and sustain the blues community without duplicating or competing with existing programs or events.
